Although Masonic Lodge membership is limited to men, there are various fraternal organizations for the female relatives of Masons, such as the Order of the Eastern Star. Membership in the Order of  the Eastern Star is allowed for affiliated Master Masons in good standing, the wives, daughters, legally adopted daughters, mothers, widows, sisters, half-sisters, grand-daughters, step-mothers, step-daughters, step-sisters, nieces, mother-in-law, and sisters-in-law of affiliated Master Masons in good standing, who have attained the age of 18 years.
